This antique Yale & Towne padlock features a distinct raised "YALE" logo set within a rectangular frame on both sides. The brass or bronze shackle is stamped with "PIN TUMBLER" and is paired with a cast iron or steel body.These locks often date from the late 19th or early 20th century, with some models patented around 1890. The original key is thin and does not turn like modern keys. The key pushes in and the shackle is pulled to release. When it is locked back it has a magnetic feel. Both lock and key have wonderful natural aged patina never cleaned.
